“BAM KABLOOM! Destroying Gender Stereotypes in Comics”
Comic artists, fans, and enthusiasts collide! Tonight: a discussion about gender and the comic arts, including but not limited to: the portrayal of women and genderqueer characters in comics and the experience of working and participating in a historically male-dominated industry and subculture. Featuring artists of several mediums– from webcomics and zines to superhero print comics– this panel includes DC Comics artist Amy Reeder, web artist Sally Madden, zinester Elvis Bakaitis, and more. Audience participation is encouraged and Nerrd Grrls of all genders are welcome. The Nerrd Grrl series lives at Bluestockings every other month on the third Wednesday.
