What do we talk about on the show? The NYC Feminist Zinefest, my first comic ever, rad current zines to check out, gender in mainstream & alternative comics culture – and, new & exciting developments in the Homos in Herstory zine series. I also tell the tale of how queers forced the mainstream feminist movements to recognize their existence, in the famous “Lavender Menace” showdown of 1970.
Many props to Nikki for running a politically radical radio show in the heart of Ohio, even as she lives in NYC! It’s one of those passion-fueled projects, a trove of amazing thoughts and resources that folks can just stumble upon on the radio dial, in the middle of a quiet midwestern evening.
